Shown is a stand that can be fabricated for use with various stationary tools, allowing the motor to be mounted below the tool.

The sander shown mounted on the stand is a KMG-I Knifemaker's Grinder purchased from Beaumont Metalworks, it uses 2 by 72 inch sanding belts. Burr King and Bader are two other popular brands of knifemaker's grinders that are available from companies on the Internet. Texas Knifemaker's Supply and Grizzley also offer their own entry level sander-grinders for knife-makers.
