Shelburne Museum

In the northwest corner of Vermont, just 7 miles south of the city of Burlinglton on Rt 7 is a wonderful museum. Originally started by a woman named: Electra Havemeyer Webb. This museum is a collection of collections.

For the blacksmith there is a combined blacksmith/wagonsmith shop and many collections of tools, horsedrawn vehichles etc ad infinitum. One memorable collection is a wall full of snowball picks (in north country, in the winter time if you were out with your horses, you always carried a snowball pick to clean the snow out of the horses' hooves.) You would not think that there were so many designs for the same simple basic tool.
