S7 Steel

S7 is an air quench tool steel. The "S" indicates that this is a Shock Resistant Tool Steel, designed to take the abuse of being hit and hit hard.

Chemical make up:

  • Carbon - 0.50%
  • Manganese - 0.70%
  • Silicon - 0.30%
  • Chromium - 3.25%
  • Molybdenum - 1.40%
  • Vanadium - 0.25%
