Iron-In-The-Hat
An "Iron-In-The-Hat" is a name used for a particular type of raffel. Some clubs will have one at each monthly meeting. You will also run into these at
"Hammer-Ins".
Generally, an Iron-In-The-Hat is run as follows: each item up for raffel has an separate container (usually a platic cup) next to it. You buy tickets and if there is an item in the raffel which you are interested in, you would put one or more tickets into the cup associated with that item. This system allows you to focus your tickets on the specific items you are interested.
At a large
Hammer-In, it is not uncommon to have 200-300 items up for raffel.
