Green Coal

In blacksmithing circles you will frequently hear the term "Green Coal". This refers to coal which has not yet been in the fire, fresh coal.

((And, NO, it is not colored green.))

Also, at some Hammer-Ins the term "Green Coal" refers to an area that has been set up to allow beginningers try their hand at forging under the tutelage of an experienced smith.
