The Artist Blacksmith Association of North America (ABANA) is comprised of over 4500 members in 75 affiliate clubs. This TWiki blacksmithing encyclopedia is sponsored by the Blacksmith Guild of Central Maryland (BGCM), an ABANA affiliate with over 200 members sharing a common interest in blacksmithing. BGCM operates out of the Carroll County Farm Museum in Westminster, Maryland, but there is sure to be a local ABANA affiliate club near you. ABANA affiliates have demonstrations, workshops, courses and conferences throughout the year. These gatherings are a good opportunity to learn both basic and advanced hot iron techniques from seasoned smiths.
