Extended Table For Traveling Forge Parts
These tables describe examples of some fasteners used in the construction of a
Civil War period Traveling Forge, and combine information from multiple charts, tables and explanations found throughout the
Ordnance Manual of 1863. The two right-most columns, "remarks" and "head diameter", are added to explain the codes in the other columns. Combining the information from the various pages in one place, is helpful in reducing confusion.
Important Note: "do" was used by the writers of the Ordnance Manual to indicate "same as above".
