The Crafts Report
This magazine is primarily targeted at the professional and semi-professional crafts-person/artist who is selling primarily through the craft fair circuit. However, if you are thinking about selling some of your ironwork this magazine has quite a bit of good information.
The magazine provides articles articles such as: how to pick a craft fair; how to submit an entry for juried craft fair; taking pictures of your work; maximizing the customer appeal of your craft fair booth; etc. In addition there have been various articles about legal aspects of being a money making crafts-person/artist: trademark; protecting your original designs; etc. Although the primary emphasis seems to be on craft fairs, it also covers selling your work through art/craft galleries.
Every month you will find listings of crafts fairs for around the country along with contact information. Another valuable part of the magazine are the advertisements and classified ads. Here are sources for: packing materials; your craft fair booth; setting up a small scale credit card operation; etc.
You can go to the webpage listed below and get an idea of the kind of articles you will find in this magazine.
A one year subscription is about $32. You can subscribe by calling: 1-800-331-0038; go on line to:
