The Blacksmith's Journal
"The Blacksmith's Journal" is published monthly by Jerry Hoffman. This is not a book or magazine per se, rather a constantly growing resource. The entire collection now exceeds 2600 pages. Each month he features 1 or 2 projects, often including shop drawings. One of the nice features is that each year Hoffmann publishes an updated index so that you can find the articles you need. Hoffmann provides a wide assortment of projects, covering traditional, modern, practical, artistic, tool making, shop tips, etc. Another nice feature is that he will often also include "variations on a theme". i.e. he will show how to take the basic idea presented and modify the design.
Currently (Feb, 2008) a subscription is $40/year. Back issues are available from the web page.

- 5 June, 2010. The BLACKSMITH'S JOURNAL website states that it is no longer accepting subscriptions. The April, 2010 issue is the last one listed on the site. Word on the street, is that the monthly journal has ceased. Very sad. -- AlbinDrzewianowski - 05 Jun 2010
