A quarterly magazine written and illustrated by George Dixon. Usually about 20 pages. The underlying premise behind this publication is: "Blacksmithing is not defined by time period or motif. Blacksmithing is defined by process alone." The articles focus on various "traditional" processes and the tooling needed to accomplish those processes. Heavily illustrated.
From 1988 to 1992 George Dixon was Head Blacksmith at Samuel Yellin Metalworkers of Philadelphia. This is heavily reflected in the type of work that is presented in the publication.

Issue #4 for 2008 arrived today, 8 April, 2009. George Dixon has been delayed by a combination of computer and family issues, while at the same time trying to finish the 2nd Volume of the Francis Whitaker book. He reports that he hopes to resume publication of The A-B Q. during the summer of 2009 once he gets caught up. -- AlbinDrzewianowski - 08 Apr 2009
