The Museum is located on Rt. 5 in Southern Vermont, right next to the Connecticut River, with easy access from US 91. It contains the largest collection of historically significant machine tools in the nation. The Museum is housed in the former Robbins and Lawrence armory built in 1846 for the manufacture of guns and machinery. The displays set the foundation for the Industrial Revolution in the United States.
